I scored at the thrift store yesterday.
I have been wanting to trade in my oversize rectangular dining room table and get a smaller, round one for more than a year. I have watched thrift shops and tag sales. I have peeked at craigslist. I looked at new ones online and in catalogs. Thursday, finally, I found four chairs, identical but being sold separately. There was also a cheap, plain, round table. I toted the chairs around to the table and tried the two together. Then X tried them. Then I called theother23 to get his opinion.
Today, he goes to pick them up. (Grand total = $82.50)
I plan to paint the chairs and table. I haven't completely decided on the color, or lack thereof, but it is going to be something rather pale, I think. Being that I like to keep walls and floor very white, I'm thinking of going with either a pale grey (my favorite color) or ... ??? I don't know. I will think about it for a day or two. I am going to put new fabric on the seats. I am thinking of going with a darker grey, like a pewter, but something that is easy to clean and not prone to be injured by cat claws.
I also found some cool storage-decor ... a dark tan set of metal drawers, like card-catalog style and a black tin set of pans, two small ones with a lid and a larger one without, to match a grey set that I already have in the studio/office. I collect icebox cast iron as well as icebox tins and refrigerator glass.
I think that my weekend may revolve around the items purchased Thursday. (Yay!) Any plans for your weekend?
